Paid Postage Passes! Voting is finally free

July 9, 2019

Did you hear? Voting will finally be free in Oregon, with every single mailbox becoming a dropbox.

We are elated to announce that Paid Postage passed this Legislative Session and is heading to the Governor’s desk to be signed. With the passage of this bill Oregon is yet again establishing itself as a national leader in creating fair, equitable and accessible elections.

Paid Postage will help ensure there’s a ballot in the hands of every eligible voter, and that everyone can participate. This simple yet groundbreaking bill is estimated to increase voter participation by an astonishing 5-10% by streamlining the process and removing barriers to voting.

Over the last couple of years we have led the charge on working tirelessly to ensure that Paid Postage passes, and while this win is a huge step forward, we still have a lot more work to do in creating a fair elections system here in Oregon.

Would you make a one time or reoccurring donation to help support our fight to sustain and push for a more equitable democracy in Oregon? Whether it is $5 or $100, your contribution goes directly towards helping create people-powered politics and a more just and equitable state.
