Summary: The Bus Project is seeking outgoing, dedicated, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team to help us register hundreds of young voters for this year’s historic 2016 election! We’re hiring part- and full-time positions on a as soon as possible, so get your application in today!

About us: The Bus Project is an innovative nonprofit organization that mobilizes young people to move Oregon forward through civic engagement, leadership development and advocacy work.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Program Director and volunteers to register hundreds of young people to vote in Clackamas County, OR
  • Participate in weekly team meetings and 1:1 check-in meetings with the Program Organizer, as well as evaluations, debriefs, and trainings
  • Develop a backwards plan outlining how you will achieve voter registration goals
  • Meet daily and weekly goals for voter registration cards
  • Participate in voter registration form processing and data entry
  • Plan ways to make voter registration efforts & phone banking fresh, engaging and exciting to young voters

What we’re looking for:

  • Available to work some weekday evenings and weekends; willingness to work nontraditional hours
  • Deep commitment to the Bus Project’s mission of engaging more young people in our democracy
  • Excitement for registering young voters and turning them out to vote
  • Enthusiasm for working within diverse and underrepresented communities
  • Work style that is flexible, respectful and collaborative, and will maintain a supportive, empowering work culture
  • Reliable transportation and a driver’s license strongly preferred
  • Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required

Position details:

  • This is a temporary position with an expected end date of October 18th, 2016.
  • This position will conduct voter registration exclusively in Clackamas County, OR
  • Part and full-time positions available as soon as possible
  • Organizers report to the Bus Project’s Program Director
  • Some travel to work out of the Bus Project’s office in Portland may be required
  • Pay commensurate based on experience.
